This year three stages will host an exciting line-up of popular national and local musical acts. Come and enjoy the foods and sounds of Greece at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church’s 33nd Annual Greek Festival, September 9-12, 2010. Come rain or shine under the tents!
Indulge in the homemade, authentic Greek menu, including moussaka (layered sliced eggplant and ground beef topped with Béchamel cream sauce baked to a golden brown) pastitsio (layered macaroni and ground beef topped with Béchamel Sauce baked to a golden brown), roasted leg of lamb, chicken riganati, as well as souvlaki and gyro. Appetizers include Greek salad with Feta cheese and olives, tiropites (cheese puffs), spanakopites (spinach puffs), dolmades (stuffed grape
leaves) and meatballs. Don’t forget to treat yourself with the homemade, tasty desserts and pastries the festival has to offer! And to complete your taste of Greece, sip Retsina (white Greek wine) or Ouzo, the liqueur of the ancient Gods.
Fully enjoy the sounds of Greece with live music and authentic Folk dancing, featuring several dance groups of all ages. A zeibekiko dance contest will be held on Sauturday evening, featuring a prize from The Greek Store of Kenilworth. Also throughout the event free Greek Folk Dancing lessons will be given. Opa!
The Greek Import Boutique will feature a variety of imported goods, jewelry, vases and many other articles from Greece. Additional vendors will be selling hand made copper and silver artwork, oil paintings, jewelry, and other wares. Also, with each admission, be entered to win one of 100 gift bags! Also, don’t forget to bring the kids to the festivals many rides and games!
The festival is located at 721 Rahway Avenue, Union, NJ. The hours are: Thursday 6pm-10pm. Friday, Lunch specials will be served from 11:30am to 2:30pm, followed with Dinner from 6pm-12Midnight. Saturday 12Noon - 12Midnight. Sunday 12Noon - 8pm. Admission is $1 and parking is free.

The Monmouth County SPCA is leashing up for their 17th Annual Dog Walk & Pet Fair on the campus of Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, New Jersey. Last year’s Walk attracted more than 2,000 people and their pets from all over the tri-state area, and with devoted animal lover and rescue advocate Caroline Manzo from The Real Housewives of New Jersey as the Event Chair, this year’s Dog Walk is certain to be bigger than ever!
The event will be hosted by long-time supporter Liz Jeressi of 94.3 The Point. Live music and entertainment will be provided by The Wag, complimented by plenty of vendors, exhibitors and bow-wow pet boutiques, food, demonstrations, contests, activities for kids, photo opportunities and much more. Pets available for adoption will also be featured at the event.

Enjoy a day filled with fun at the 19th annual Blackwood Pumpkin Festival, sponsored by Mainstage Center for the Arts and Beneficial Bank, Sunday, October 3rd, 11 am to 4 pm in and around the Blackwood Rotary Library, 15 S. Black Horse Pike, Blackwood, NJ. This festival offers food, games, music, and crafts with more than 200 vendors and four stages for entertainment. Activities include hayrides, Jump for Joy moonbounce, a pumpkin carving contest, pony rides, face painting, pumpkin painting, a costume contest, and more.

Deerfield Township Harvest Festival
The Deerfield Township Harvest Festival takes place in Rosenhayn, (Cumberland County) New Jersey, October 8-10, 2010. The 32 annual festival pays tribute to local farmers, and with this year's theme, "Celebrate Heroes,” it will also pay tribute to our Armed Forces. The festival’s outstanding entertainment lineup features local and regional entertainers coupled with established and rising national performers. It also includes a parade, arts & crafts show, mascot mania, amusement rides and games, a Sing Fest competition, a multi-cultural food court and fireworks. This will be the first harvest festival with a $1 per day admission charge for Sat. and Sun., Oct. 9 and 10. The festival is held outdoors, rain or shine, on the grounds of Rosenhayn Fire Company and Frank LoBiondo, Sr. Recreation Park in Rosenhayn in Deerfield Township, Cumberland County, New Jersey at Morton Avenue, one block south of the intersection of Morton and Landis Avenue (NJ Route 56). The festival includes performances by nationally-known country singer-song writers Darryl Worley who will close the festival on Sunday night, Oct. 10 and Jason Michael Carroll and James Otto on Saturday night, Oct. 9 in the village of Rosenhayn in Deerfield Township, Cumberland County, New Jersey.
Other musical entertainment scheduled for the festival includes Buxton Hughes, Troy Olsen, Bleu Edmondson, Veronica Ballestrini, , Sherry Lynn and Chelsea Musick. Returning this year will be local favorites Zoe, Sensational Soul Cruisers, Jack Neff Band and Good Tymes.

The South Jersey Pumpkin Show, now in its seventh year, will once again feature a Professional Home, Garden and Recreational Expo. The Atlantic County David C. Woods 4-H Fairgrounds, located on Rte. 50 between Mayslanding and South Egg Harbor City, will host this one of a kind event. This two day Home Show will be held on October 9 & 10, from 10am to 6pm. Visitors will find everything for inside and outside their home, as thousands of products and services will be available to research.
Consumers will be able to shop for a new home or sunroom, talk to builders and contractors, get tips on home improvement projects and walk through aisles and aisles of products and services. Seminars, exhibits, give-aways, product demonstrations and more will be offered as well. Some of the companies represented will feature: windows, doors, sheds, paving stones, landscaping, kitchens, bath, garages, storage units, barns, guttering, home improvements, lawn and garden products, new and used vehicles, tools, banking, mortgages, real estate, insurance, investments, basement repairs, security, flooring and more.
