The FOLK MUSIC SOCIETY of Midland is hosting a Gathering of Folk musicians, Traditional dancers and Folk Music enthusiasts at the Midland County Fairgrounds, 6905 Eastman Rd., Midland, MI on August 26-29, 2010 (Thursday noon – Sunday noon). Admission fees are $7.00 per person or $20 per family for all four days. Camping sites are available at the Fairgrounds for $17.00 per night with electricity. The Folk Music Society invites musicians of all levels, from beginners to advanced, to bring their acoustic instruments and join the festivities at the annual MIDLAND FOLK MUSIC FESTIVAL. There will be lots of jamming and open stage opportunities all weekend. On Friday night, the Midland Traditional Dancers will instruct and lead dancers of all levels in a lively FREE evening of contra dancing. Over 70 workshops are included with the price of admission and will be held on Friday and Saturday for Banjo, Guitar, Fiddle, Bass, Mandolin, Dobro, Autoharp, Hurdy Gurdy, Concertina, Ukelele, Whistle, Hammered Dulcimer, Mountain Dulcimer, Dance and Performance!!
