Oka Kapassa Oka Kapassa, a special Native American gathering, is held in Spring Park, Tuscumbia, Alabama to celebrate the culture and traditions of American Indians who once thrived in north Alabama. Events and activities include Storytelling & Stonecarving, Flutes & Flute Music, Fancy & Traditional Dancing, Blowgun Demonstrations, Shell Carving, Basket Making, Authentic Indian Foods - Frybread, Indian tacos, & Corn, Pottery, Jewelry & Beadwork and Archery demonstrations.

Leeds Downtown Folk Festival This fun-filled, family-friendly festival will feature juried art, storytelling, live folk music, children's crafts, folk art demonstrations, and exotic, regional and ethnic food. The Festival celebrates the roots, richness and variety of Alabama culture. The event will feature exhibits and demonstrations by fine artists and folk artisans, live folk music and entertainment, a variety of children’s activities, and lots of exotic, regional and ethnic food. Special events at this year’s festival include a celebration of the life of John Henry -- local legend and steel-drivin’ man -- as well as a train show, and an antique car show on Saturday.
